New album — Physical release 5 June 2026 / Digital release 12 June 2026.
Automaton is a psychedelic doom / post-black metal band formed in 2012 in Athens, Greece. Their sound merges down-tuned riffs, psychedelic textures and black metal elements into long-form compositions defined by atmosphere, weight and cinematic scale.
Labyrinth is the band’s third full-length album, with physical release on 5 June 2026 and digital release on 12 June 2026. Inspired by the ancient Greek myth of the Minoan Labyrinth, the album unfolds as an allegorical journey through dark twists and treacherous trails, turning the labyrinth into a metaphor for the disorienting pathways of modern life.
The album follows Echoes of Mount Ida and Talos, further expanding Automaton’s world of immersive heaviness, layered textures and mythic thematic scope. Automaton have performed extensively in Greece and abroad, including appearances at Inferno Metal Festival in Oslo and at festivals such as Rethymno Rocks!, New Long Fest, Into the Limbo, Desertfest Athens, and Side Effects Festival.
